In the last several weeks, I attended a few fun craft events that I wanted to share with you. It was so much fun, and this is just a fraction of the pictures I took of all the fun. Exciting!

Etsy Craft Party at Crafted at the Port of Los Angeles
On June 6th, Crafted at the Port of Los Angeles, held the 3rd annual Etsy Craft Party on their grounds. It was so much fun!
Crafted just celebrated their 2nd anniversary, so they had lovely totes for anyone who Instagram-ed and tagged a picture of the event. It was a good idea to tote all of the craft party items back home!
Here are a few of the projects that were set up all around the area. The cute succulent mason jar in the middle was featured on the morning news!
There were also free craft booths where you could make cute projects.
Besides the photo crafts, there were a bunch more including making your own knitting needles. Ooh! I need to add more projects to my collection.
Clothespin dolls and decoupaged mason jars were really fun to personalize!
These adorable hair pins were SO cute. I love the layered fabric flowers. :)
And in case you wanted to make crafts but forgot your photos, this table of DIY bottle cap earrings had extras!
Also, a couple of the regular features of Crafted, including this prettily decorated mannequin and the photo booth!
A couple of fun things for the night was the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium bringing some grunion fish for the kids to hatch! It was so fun to see them shaking like crazy. :)
They had a VIP area decked out with snacks and decor, which was located just adjacent to the second half of their gorgeous space.
Another fun part of the night was the food truck serving pizza outside! I couldn't help but get a piece. :)
And of course, most of the regular booths at Crafted were open for regular purchases. By the way, I am totally featuring them on Shop Small Saturday Showcase because there were so many awesome shops. Here are a few!
Pretty upcycled bags from Eco Pet Bags...
Tasty treats from Iris's Petite Bake Shoppe and sophisticated creations from London's House of Dolls.
I need a beachy room in the new house so I can buy a bunch of pretty items from Knotical.
And cute keychains and wallets from The Journey. Fun!
So yes, I'm definitely headed back over the bridge soon to visit Crafted again because there is always something new to see and shop for! :)
Penelope Lane Boutique
I loved the collection of shops at Penelope Lane Boutique, which I found out about from Wilderess. Everything was so darn cute, but I don't want to spoil the surprise of the future Shop Small Saturday Showcase features!
L.A. Sewing Blogger Meet-Up
Lastly, I went to the L.A. Sewing Blogger Meet-Up organized by a few local sewing bloggers, because nothing like that had ever been organized before! It was lots of fun. :)
First of all, there was a fabric swap. I was a dolt and on my rush to get there after a World Cup game at home, didn't even think to put together a bag from my fabric stash. I didn't want to pick up any fabric because of my "Sew My Stash" pledge, but the ladies insisted that I participate. I did pick up a couple of small bundles and even though I promised not to buy fabric, maybe I cheated just a little. Oops!
There was also a pattern swap, and I picked up a couple of those, including a Colette pattern to add to my huge pattern stash!
Here are a couple that didn't quite make the cut... The one on the left is crazy. The one on the right has an odd full-length halter dress that can be made with a matching jacket. Why they chose a crazy floral print for the pattern envelope, I don't know.
Also, they gave every attendee a cute bag with L.A. Sewing Blogger buttons and a couple goodies in a tiny drawstring bag. It was so sweet! Besides that, they also had a giveaway session with lots of patterns to be given away. Since I arrived late, I wasn't sure if my name was in the drawing...
...but then I won the grand prize of $50 to The Fabric Store. So yes, my name was in the drawing!
But, come on! I'm on a fabric fast, and they drop $50 in my lap to buy so much gorgeous fabric.
Really? It was ridiculously tough to walk away and save it for another time. Especially with these pretty purple fabrics.
However, I decided that I should pick a dress pattern that deserves a nice fabric, sew a muslin, and then splurge on a fabric that I normally wouldn't buy for myself.
And those are all the craft events for the past few weeks. Both the Etsy Craft Party and Penelope Lane Boutique were new to me, and I will definitely be back! Also, I hope we have another L.A. Sewing Blogger meet up next year. :)
Do you attend local craft events?
