Precap (jump to):
- Sights: Retro Row, TEAVANA Oprah Chai sneak peek
- Eats: Honduras Kitchen, Candle Light Bakery, Greenspan's Grilled Cheese
You might have noticed in my precap above that we went to Honduras Kitchen again! We went with one of my guy's coworkers who is half Honduran. It passed the test and it's easy to see why...
I have been there so often that I m now the Duchess on Yelp. Ha! Check out the whole delicious meal on the The Episodic Eater!
Then we went for a stroll down Retro Row, which is always fun! So much to see, like sewing patterns...
Huge glass owl jars...
Awesome old library filing drawers and security deposit boxes.
Beautiful old cameras!
Amazingly restored retro chairs.
And funky lamp fixtures. I almost went with something similar for my own light fixture project!
After our tour, we went back home and I spent some time with my friend Mary! She brought over some lovely items from Candle Light Bakery. See it all on The Episodic Eater!
Now, for a few mid-week treats!
I was invited to an exclusive tasting of TEAVANA Oprah Chai tea, and I was so happy to go. They sent a car for me, which I appreciated especially when it took nearly 2 hours to get there. No joke! I worked in the back, but every turn that the driver took was pretty much closed and he ended up changing his route probably ten times.
In the end it was totally worth it! I am extremely picky about teas, and this tea is exactly to my taste. I absolutely loved it! Here is a sneak peek of what you will be seeing in stores...
The tea itself is simply beautiful! We spoke with Jason, who personally developed the tea with Oprah and you must see the whole post over on The Episodic Eater! I'm planning something special over there soon for you that I can't wait to share! :)
After all of that tea, I was very hungry and not sure how long it would take to get home. So, I stopped at a place I was itching to try: Greenspan's Grilled Cheese!
It was delicious! To see the rest of the meal, including another amazing sandwich and an off-menu dessert, click on over to The Episodic Eater.
This week was so fun, and I have even more amazing things planned for this weekend, some of which I mentioned in Wednesday's post.
What are you doing this weekend? Anything special planned for our first weekend in May? :)
