Wednesday
Can you say Thanksgiving prep? I swear that my Sweet Potato Souffle smiled at me just before I mashed it all up! There were four eggs in there, but these "eyes" just popped up, so I had to snap a quick pic. :)
Proof that I need to check on my recipe every so often!
Thursday
It was a stuffed Thanksgiving table yet again! LOTS of food, and we still have leftovers!
Friday
So, how did Black Friday go for you? The whole family slept over and we had a fun time with lots of cousins and the bunch of us eating leftovers for lunch and alternating between Glee, Parks and Recreation, and Scandal episodes on TV. There are way more of us girls in the family, so guys were relegated to a smaller TV for football games. :)
Later on, the family went to Il Garage, a hidden gem in Stanton with an organic garden. Check out the TONS of pictures of delicious food and a quick garden tour on The Episodic Eater!
Saturday
My London & Paris buddy had her birthday! Since her big plans were the next day, we decided to do something fun on the day of. First, we headed to a craft show that I heard of from Bless the Theory at Patchwork Long Beach. However, we were sidetracked on our way there by The Southern Girl Bakery. Find out what I ordered below on The Episodic Eater!
After our "snack" we headed to Makers Mart! The East Village of Long Beach is really cute! Lots of art incorporated into the regular street fixtures, and lovely landscaping too!
Afterwards, we checked out a few of the goods, and there will be some special posts coming up soon! Here's a mini-preview from Blossom Vintage, See Kim, Bent By Victoria, and Petal and Paperie.
Right after, we went to At Last Cafe. It is REALLY one of my favorites, and has been featured on TV as well. See all of the delicious comfort food, plus a few of my "must try" dishes on The Episodic Eater!
Sunday
I somehow convinced my guy that we should hit up Patchwork Santa Ana, so he joined me! It was larger than ever and I barely made a dent looking at so many of the awesome goods and visiting with some friends. :) As with Patchwork Long Beach, there was lots of music, but this time there were dancers! We also enjoyed some yummy beverages and food. :)
In fact, we had Bigmista's Barbecue, which was sooo good. We had the Brisket over Pineapple Coleslaw with a blend of the Spicy & Regular sauce, since my man can't handle his heat as well as I do. :) It's not fancy, but it's goooood. In fact Jonathan Gold named it one of the "99 Things To Eat in L.A. Before You Die." Check!
I stopped at Small and Great for a chat, and saw these cute little Grapefruit buddies that I missed the first time around!
In the end, I walked away with some great stuff! A lovely succulent stone planter from Concrete Geometric, cute little earrings from Sachi Love, all-natural carrot cake brittle from P.O.P. Candy Co., and a whole line of Peppermint goodies (scrub, lip balm, lotion, and body bar) from Moxxie! Soon, I'll share even more from my day at the event!
Later that night, I scooted to the John Legend concert for a great show! Unfortunately, my phone could not take great pictures with all of the lights, but it was so fun!
And now you can see why I'm pooped! For the last couple of days, I have just been recovering. In fact, I have another concert tonight, which I am crossing my fingers that I do not fall asleep in the middle of...
What was your Thanksgiving like? Did you do any Black Friday shopping?
